Torino assistant manager Nicolò Frustalupi filled in for suspended Walter Mazzarri and believes they maintained “balance” to beat Udinese.

Coach Mazzarri was in the stands due to a touchline ban, so Frustalupi oversaw today’s 2-0 victory over Udinese.

“We prepare the games together during the week and I simply did what I always do every Sunday,” Frustalupi told Rai Sport.

“We prepare the games together during the week and I simply did what I always do every Sunday,” Frustalupi told Rai Sport.

“My job is to carry on Mazzarri’s ideas of football and put them into action. Having three strikers will inevitably mean running a few risks at the back, but it’s about balance. Iago Falque and M’Baye Niang obviously have to make sacrifices.

“I think we put in a good performance. We were a little tense at the start and allowed Udinese some chances, but they’re in such good shape it was inevitable they’d have some opportunities.

“Udinese had chances, but in the end I think we deserved this victory.”
