Alderweireld to miss Juventus

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld is expected to be left out of the squad for tomorrow’s Champions League first leg with Juventus.

The Bianconeri welcome the English side to Turin tomorrow night for the home leg of their Last 16 tie, and the hosts will be without Blaise Matuidi, Juan Cuadrado and possibly Paulo Dybala.

Now reports in England state that Alderweireld will be left in London, as he continues his comeback from a long injury.

The Belgian played 90 minutes against Newport County last Tuesday, but wasn’t included in the squad for Saturday’s win over Arsenal.

According to Sky Sports News, Mauricio Pochettino won’t include Alderweireld in the travelling party for Turin, leaving the centre-back to focus on rehabilitation.
