Stefan de Vrij still hasn’t signed his Lazio contract, with reports his agents want 20 per cent of any future transfer fee.
The Dutch international is out of contract at the end of the season, but doesn’t want to leave on a free transfer after the Biancocelesti supported him through his knee problems.
De Vrij therefore wants to sign a new contract, but with a release clause which will allow him to leave in the summer.
However, so far there has been no announcement of a new deal, with sporting director Igli Tare revealing “the problem is with his agency”.
Now La Repubblica is reporting that De Vrij’s representatives want 20 per cent of the €25m release clause if and when it’s activated.
Given that the Aquile were already unhappy about inserting such a low release clause, they’re not keen to agree to those terms.
Therefore, the newspaper reports, Inter continue to monitor the centre-back’s situation in the hope of getting him on a free transfer in the summer.
