Verona boss Fabio Pecchia does not believe opponents Lazio are in crisis despite no wins in five matches in all competitions.
Simone Inzaghi’s team’s recent run has seen them slip to fifth in Serie A, while their Coppa Italia semi-final tie with Milanand Europa League last 32 double header with Steaua Bucharest are in the balance.
However, the Scaligeri boss believes tomorrow evening’s match at the Stadio Olimpico will be a tough one for his relegation strugglers.
“We need to think about getting points regardless of the opposition,” Pecchia told Verona’s official website.
“They have had some problems in recent games but I’ve not seen a team in crisis.
“I expect my boys to give the best of themselves.”
The Hellas tactician’s future has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, particularly after a dire 3-0 home defeat to Crotone last month.
However, despite his side lying five points from safety, Pecchia feels the support of Verona’s board.
“For me it’s a great source of motivation. A boost to always do more and improve.
“The faith I have in my team should also be a boost for the boys.
“From here until the end, it will be a very challenging journey. We need to be focused an approach every match in the right way.”
