Walter Mazzarri believes his Torino players gave a ‘perfect’ performance despite their defeat to Juventus.
Despite a promising start, the Granata were beaten 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico after Alex Sandro’s 33rd minute tap in proved the only goal of the Derby della Mole.
Mazzarri’s side struggled to conjure up a response after going behind, but the former Inter and Napoli boss still believes his side were the better team.
“We created more compared to them. We conceded one chance and a half to them and they punished us,” the Toro Coach told reporters.
“We gave a great team problems and risked very little. I think everything was positive apart from the result.
“Until the goal we did better than Juve, but then we conceded with a counter blow.
“We will work on that because it shouldn’t happen.
“They are very strong and so cinical that if we had got our tactical approach wrong we wouldn’t have played the good game we did.
“I think we were prefect, or more or less.”
Defeat leaves Torino in ninth place in Serie A as they continue to battle for a Europa League place.
