The Neroverdi have now failed to win in seven Serie A matches and have slumped to sixteenth in the table, six points above the relegation zone.

“We played a great match if you exclude the first 10 minutes,” Iachini inisited despite seeing his side succumb to Erick Pulgar’s late winner.

“Unfortunately we weren’t able to be solid. In the second half we attacked a lot, creating a hostile atmosphere at their ground. The crowd were booing.”

The former Palermoboss was unhappy with the sending off of Edoardo Goldaniga, with Bologna’s winner coming immediately afterwards.

“But then we were punished with just a few minutes left, even though it seemed that Goldaniga had won the ball.

“In the first five matches we got 11 points, even against big teams.

“In the second block of matches we have played well, without managing to take advantage of our chances.

“We need to keep insisting on this way of working. Through our play, the boys will unblock the situation and score more easily.”
