Milan and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is statistically the most promising teenage player in Europe, ahead of Kylian Mbappé and Christian Pulisic.
The calculations were made by the CIES Football Observatory, which analysed research based on domestic experience over the last two campaigns.
It is “based on minutes played according to the sporting level of leagues and the results achieved by employer clubs."
Donnarumma made his Serie A debut for Milan aged just 16 in October 2015 and he won’t turn 19 until later this month.
He is one of only 10 players given a five-star rating by CIES and sits right at the top, ahead of Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont, with PSG star Mbappé third and Pulisic of Borussia Dortmund fourth.
Donnarumma’s Milan teammate and fellow youth academy graduate Manuel Locatelli comes in 13th place.
A surprising name in 31st is Giulio Maggiore, who plays in Serie B for Spezia.
Inter winger Yann Karamoh, who scored his debut Serie A goal last week, is in 39th.
