Ciro Immobile broke his goal drought with a brace as Lazio swept Hellas Verona aside 2-0 to surge into fourth place, ending their crisis.

This was a very important game at both ends of the table, as the Aquile had one draw from their last five competitive matches, while Hellas were desperate to escape the drop zone.

It was a siege at the Stadio Olimpico from start to finish, but somehow ended goalless at half-time because of wasteful finishing, Nicolas heroics and Luis Alberto rattling the crossbar.

The deadlock was eventually broken after the restart when Immobile drilled into the near bottom corner from a Luis Alberto slide-rule pass.

It was his first goal since January 6, but he added another five minutes later to consolidate his Capocannoniere status on 22 Serie A strikes by turning in the rebound from a Nicolas save on Senad Lulic.
