Raul Albiol can’t wait to see what the Scudetto celebrations will be like if Napoli win the Serie A title. “We know what it means to the fans.”
The Partenopei are still one point ahead of title holders Juventus and set a new club record of nine consecutive Serie A victories.
“We know that we cannot afford to make any mistakes,” the defender told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“Every game in Serie A is difficult and on Monday we have another very tough test with Cagliari. It’s a hard stadium to play in, but it’ll be nice to see Leonardo Pavoletti again. He’s a great guy and felt right at home here.
“It’s fundamental for us when we have the support of our fans. We know how much winning this Scudetto means to them and we’re working to make them happy in May.
“It’s a journey Napoli started five years ago. We learned a lot over those five years and know how difficult it is to win in Naples. It’d be extraordinary, something to be remembered for your whole life. We hope this Scudetto arrives.
“Maurizio Sarri is perfect for this team and his ideas of football. We’ve improved a lot over the last three years.
“We’re having a remarkable season, both Napoli and Juventus are putting together so many points, but we hope to finish first. You win if the team all things the same way. It’s also fundamental to have the city behind us.
“We’ve thought since the start of the season that we could win it. It’s not obligatory, because we’re up against a very strong opponent, but it’s important to know we’ll have done everything we possibly could to win the Scudetto.”
