Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha has shrugged off Stefan de Vrij’s summer exit. “That’s football and we’ll go on without him.”
De Vrij will leave Lazio on a free transfer at the end of the season after rejecting a new contract, and while Strakosha was ‘disappointed’, he made it clear the Aquile were bigger than the defender.
“Both the team and I are calm,” he said at a Press conference ahead of Thursday’s Europa League last-32 second leg against Steaua Bucharest.
“We know we’re strong, and we’ll go through tomorrow in my opinion. It’ll be important not to concede a goal, but we always train not to concede.
“The Europa League is a good tournament and we want to keep going in the competition.
“De Vrij? I’m disappointed that he’s leaving, but that’s football and Stefan will give us his best for as long as he’s here.
“Lazio will go on without him. We have a good team.”
