Ricardo Rodriguez has hailed Gennaro Gattuso for his ‘beautiful’ approach to coaching Milan.

Rodriguez missed a penalty during Milan’s 1-0 win against Sampdoria last weekend, but the left-back explained how Gattuso ‘consoled’ him and motivated him to “do better”.

“We’re doing and playing well, winning games,” he said at a Press conference for Thursday’s Europa League last-32 second leg against Ludogorets.

“We have to go on like this and we always want to play like this. The Coach decides how to play or not.

“We must keep our feet on the ground and continue like this. They’re quick up top, we know it and we have to play like we always do.

“They’re quick and strong, they have to win here and we have to focus for 95 minutes and see what happens.

“Samp? I missed a penalty, I always want to shoot well and score: I didn’t succeed, the goalkeeper did well, but I don’t hide away, and when I’m able to shoot, I do.

“Gattuso always wants the best, he consoled me and it was a beautiful thing. The Coach is certainly right, clearly I can do more and I’ll do better, like he wants. Now we’re all fine.”
