Lazio’s Senad Lulic hails his side’s ‘splendid’ performance after they beat Steaua Bucharest 5-1 to secure Europa League progression.
Simone Inzaghi’s team trailed going into tonight’s second leg of the Round of 32 tie, having lost 1-0 in Romania last week.
However, a Ciro Immobile hat-trick and further goals by Bastos and Felipe Anderson earned an emphatic victory at the Stadio Olimpico, ensuring the Rome club advanced to the last 16.
“In Bucharest we had a lot of chances but we weren’t able to score,” Lulic reflected.
“It was a splendid evening tonight but now we need to think about the League.
“In Europe it is different compared to Serie A. We will give everything in order to go as far as possible.
“Now, we will put the Europa League to one side and focus on the League.”
Lulic praised teammate Anderson, who returned to the Lazio line-up tonight after recent reports of disagreements with Coach Inzaghi.
“Felipe Anderson is a great player, we knew that. He had a few problems after injury.
“He worked hard, made himself available for the team and you can see his worth.”
