Inter Coach Luciano Spalletti says starting Mauro Icardi against Benevento is “a risk it’s better not to run”.
The striker is back in the squad for tomorrow’s match after close to a month out, but the Nerazzurri captain is unlikely to play from the first minute.
“There are hours available to us,” Spalletti said in his pre-match Press conference.
“We want to use him but to pile 90 minutes on him, or play him from the start of a game where we don’t know how it will develop is a risk it’s better not to run.
“We will do the analysis with the doctors and we will evaluate.
“Rafinha? He’s had a bit of muscular problem, we need to assess him and he trained today, even though it was a short session because it’s the day before the game.
“So there’s not a total answer to that, but he’s here and there’s a chance we’ll use him, he can give us an important hand.”
