Luca Antonini recalls the last time Milan faced Arsenal in a competitive game - “the Emirates is a difficult stadium”.
The Rossoneri beat the Gunners 4-3 on aggregate when they met in the Champions League in 2012, and they’ve been paired together in the Europa League Last 32.
“I was on the pitch in the first leg at San Siro,” Antonini recalled, speaking to MilanNews about the 4-0 win.
“In the return leg, unfortunately, I was put in the stands [by Coach Max Allegri] at the Emirates with no explanation.
“[Djamel] Mesbah played in that game, his first match in the Champions League.
“The Emirates is definitely a difficult stadium, in which Arsenal always play well. It’s a ground which can give you a little bit of fear, but I think Rino [Gattuso, the Milan Coach] can convey the right character to the team to face these kind of matches.”
