Miralem Pjanic says he is not surprised by how Blaise Matuidi has slotted in at Juventus but confesses they ‘need’ Paulo Dybala’s qualities.
Matuidi has already made 29 appearances for Juve in his first season at the club, while Dybala has only just come back from a hamstring injury, which ruled him out of the past month.
“Did Matuidi surprise me? No, I knew Blaise way before,” the midfielder told Premium Sport.
“He’s an aggressive player, who gives us a lot of physicality and legs He helps me a lot, he’s integrated into the group well and immediately become an important player.
“Dybala’s return? Certaintly his return will be invaluable for us. We hope he’ll be available for the rest of the season. We need his qualities.
“No-one scoring more free kicks than me in the last seven years? I don’t look at statistics, but I like scoring free kicks and I hope to score more before the end of the season.
“The good thing is that Dybala and I can take them from either side, and this won’t be easy for goalkeepers. Juventus are lucky from that point of view.”
