SPAL six-pointer stuns Crotone

SPAL snatched a 3-2 victory away to Crotone, a potentially massive result in the relegation fight, as it closes the gap between them to one point.

Walter Zenga’s men suffer their second consecutive 3-2 defeat to a side in the bottom three, as last week they fell by the same scoreline to Benevento.

Mirco Antenucci blasted into the near top corner from 11 yards and after the restart Andrea Barberis hit the post, Ante Budimir ready to turn in the rebound.

SPAL surged ahead with two goals in quick succession, as Lorenzo Simic’s looping header and Alberto Paloschi pouncing on a poor Barberis back-pass created a cushion.

The Calabrese club made it a tense finale with Budimir’s late diving header, but the Spallini held on for a huge six-pointer.
