Sampdoria striker Duvan Zapata scored a sensational goal today, running from his own half to lob the goalkeeper. “It was meant to be a cross…”
The Colombia international was on the bench after a poor period of form, but came on to score the decider in the 2-1 victory over Udinese.
He struck with a magnificent solo effort, charging up the pitch, holding off a challenge and placing a precise lob into the far top corner.
“To be honest, I was trying to cross it for Fabio Quagliarella,” confessed Zapata on Sky Sport Italia.
“It went in the net instead, but I am happy above all because it’s an important goal for Sampdoria.”
