Milan reportedly have a three-year contract prepared for Pepe Reina, but no agreement is expected to be made public until the end of the season.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, not even the allure of a long-term deal with Milan can “distract Reina from his current commitment” of helping Napoli win the Scudetto.

The newspaper explains the Partenopei are willing to let the goalkeeper leave when his contract expires in June as they want someone younger, given he turns 36 later this year.

That would have alerted Milan bosses Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli to contact Jorge Mendes, who represents Reina, and “guarantee the Spaniard’s acceptance”.

It comes amidst uncertainty surrounding Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at San Siro and after the veteran reportedly told his Napoli teammates that he would be moving on.
