Criscito hints at Genoa comeback

Zenit St Petersburg defender Domenico Criscito hints he is heading back to Genoa. “I want to win something with the Rossoblu.”

Now aged 31, he has been in Russia since the summer of 2011 and his contract is due to expire in June.

“When I left seven years ago, I declared my dream was to come back to Genoa. That dream has not changed. I want to win something with the Rossoblu jersey,” Criscito told Genoa Channel.

“I married a woman from Genoa, my children were born in Genoa, so this city is my home. The fans love me and I have never forgotten them.

“Even from Russia, I continue to watch Genoa and my children have a passion for the Rossoblu jersey too. I hope that one day my children will be able to wear this shirt.

“St Petersburg is a beautiful city, but the first few months were difficult for me and my family. I got to play football and see other people, but my wife was pregnant with our first child at the time. We got over the obstacles and now it feels as if the seven months have flown by. I am in the Zenit history books as the defender who scored the most goals for the club.”
