Inzaghi has been put forward as a replacement for Max Allegri in the event the Coach leaves Juve, but the 41-year-old assured he was at Lazio for the long haul, while also expressing his delight about playing Juventus so soon after their Coppa Italia semi-final exit.

“When you lose a semi-final on penalties, there’s disappointment, but in 120 minutes against Milan, we showed we deserved to be in the Final,” the Coach said at a Press conference for Saturday’s Serie A encounter.

“I told the lads I was proud of them. We left the cup without ever being at a disadvantage. Facing Juventus immediately will help us regain our strength.

“We’ve already beaten Juve twice this season, putting in two great performances in terms of aggression and approach.

“Still, they’re a very good team with an excellent Coach. They’re the best in Italy. Even if Higuain doesn’t play, there would be Dybala, who can create the same problems.

“It’ll be a good matchday because the top six all meet each other, although only our result counts for us.

“Tactically Juventus can change. In the Supercoppa they played with a 4-2-3-1, but in the League game they played 4-3-3. This also shows how strong they are.

“They have a very solid team, marking them isn’t easy. Their defence is compact and also in midfield they’re very strong. They have many key players.

“Luis Alberto or Felipe Anderson? They must accept my initial exclusion, although whoever comes on can be more decisive than whoever started, as seen by our numbers.

“Nani? He’s fine, just like Caicedo. Their problem is that in attack, we’re very much covered with Immobile, Luis Alberto and Felipe Anderson.

“Replacing Allegri at Juve? It’s nice to be linked to a club like them, but Allegri is the best Italian Coach around.

“I’ve been at Lazio for almost 20 years and for me it’s the best thing that could’ve happen to me.”
