“We mustn’t get it wrong, but what really counts is the overall performance of the team,” said Iachini in his Press conference.

“Often we’ve had a good performance, but didn’t reap what we sowed. That is why we need the utmost concentration, as we are up against a team that is experienced, physically strong and who know their style of football very well.”

Sassuolo are well aware of their short-comings, specifically the miniscule 15 goals scored in 26 Serie A games.

“The fundamental thing will be putting the ball in the back of the net. This season we’ve had some really good games and not picked up the points because we were unable to turn all that positivity into a goal.

“We have to stay balanced, continue to believe in ourselves and trust the wheel of fortune will turn in our direction. That’s what happens in football. You must never lose organisation and the right attitude.”
