Leonardo Semplici believes SPAL’s 1-0 win over Bologna “was deserved” and urged them to “keep chasing the dream of Serie A safety.”

This was their second consecutive victory, and their first clean sheet with Alex Meret in goal, but it took an Alberto Grassi strike to beat 10-man Bologna.

“I thank the lads who gave a sense of consistency to the performance against Crotone by taking on a strong side like Bologna,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“I thank the lads who gave a sense of consistency to the performance against Crotone by taking on a strong side like Bologna,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“The pitch was in poor condition, but we deserved the victory and showed we are improving. This is a very important win and we are going beyond expectations.

“Recently, the team has become more united and the moral qualities of the squad emerged. There’s a long way to go and we have to keep chasing the dream of Serie A safety.

“It’s only normal my position was placed in doubt after bad results, but I always focused on my work and trying to reach our objective.”
