Lazio have nine centre-backs on the shortlist to replace Stefan de Vrij, reports today suggest.
The Dutch defender is out of contract at the end of the season, and he’ll leave on a free transfer after renewal talks broke down.
According to this morning’s Corriere dello Sport, there are up to nine names who could possibly replace him, starting with Diego Antonio Reyes of Porto and Matej Mitrović, currently on loan at Club Brugge from Besiktas.

According to this morning’s Corriere dello Sport, there are up to nine names who could possibly replace him, starting with Diego Antonio Reyes of Porto and Matej Mitrović, currently on loan at Club Brugge from Besiktas.
However, sporting director Igli Tare is also thought to be looking at Ramiro Funes Mori of Everton, Sporting Braga’s Ricardo Fereira, Basel defender Éder Álvarez Balanta, Sebastian Coates of Sporting Lisbon and Fabian Schar, who currently plays for Deportivo La Coruna.
There is also the possibility of signing a more experienced name, with the newspaper suggesting Tottenham Hotspur’s Jan Verthongen and Diego Godin of Atletico Madrid.
Both have contracts which expire in June 2019, and could opt for an experience in a new country.
