“I am proud and happy to be reaching this landmark, especially as it comes on the day of the derby,” said Maran.

“This isn’t just a local affair, as the result will mean a lot for the Serie A table too. I saw the lads in training and they made it clear to me they’ll put in a great performance.

Hellas Verona are in good shape, as shown by their recent results and performances. They’ll try to stop us playing and go on the counter in every situation, but I expect Chievo to put in a strong showing.

“In fact, we’ve got to keep a bit of a lid on the inner fire that has built up in us over the last few days.”

Chievo squad for Verona: Confente, Seculin, Sorrentino; Bani, Cacciatore, Cesar, Dainelli, Depaoli, Gamberini, Gobbi, Jaroszynski, Tomovic; Bastien, Birsa, Castro, Gaudino, Giaccherini, Hetemaj, Radovanovic, Rigoni; Inglese, Meggiorini, Pellissier, Pucciarelli, Stepinski
