“First of all, I’d like to underline that the Davide Astori tragedy touched the entire sporting world and beyond, confirming what a great man he really was,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We must also underline that at the end of the day, it’s the players who decide. Not playing last Sunday was a unanimous decision by all the players in Serie A, now we resume in memory of Astori. This is the kind of tragedy that brings people together.

“The team has worked well and is preparing for a game that won’t be easy. Crotone need points, are a good team, with a fine Coach and I admire the club for the way they have worked over the last few years.

“They’ve had up and down results, but I expect them to push for the victory because they really need a result and have a lot of quality in the squad.

“We have everyone available except for Bartosz Bereszynski, but that also means I have many doubts on choosing the line-up. We’ve got quite a few players a yellow card away from suspension.”

Sampdoria squad for Crotone: Belec, Tozzo, Viviano; Andersen, Ferrari, Murru, Regini, Sala, Silvestre, Strinic; Alvarez, Barreto, Capezzi, Linetty, Praet, Ramírez, Torreira, Verre; Caprari, Kownacki, Quagliarella, Duvan Zapata
