Walter Zenga hailed Crotone’s attitude after the Pitagorici won for the first time in six Serie A matches.

The Calabria club moved out of the relegation places after a surprise 4-1 demolition of Sampdoria, including two goals for Marcello Trotta.

Speaking post-match, Zenga refused to admit he was shocked at this afternoon’s result despite it coming against the odds and recent form guide.

“No, that isn’t true. Even in the previous matches we did well,” the former Wolves boss insisted.

“We have worked well, we continued on the right path with balance and sacrifice.

“The boys interpreted the match very well. I think the crowd appreciated our attitude.”

Zenga added that he has always believed in two-goal hero Trotta’s ability.

“Trotta had already played at Milanand Verona. This is who we are and we have faith in everyone. We are happy.”
