Roma are looking to reach the quarter-finals for the fourth time in their history but must overturn a 2-1 deficit, while Florenzi’s contract only has a year left to run.

“The match against Shakhtar is important, not only for us but also for Roma because it would be the fourth time in the club’s history that they’ve reached the quarter-finals,” the midfielder said at a Press conference.

“We have to manage their strengths for 90 minutes, but our style of play means we’ll go the distance, so we must approach the game in the right way.

“We want to repeat the good things we’ve done in Europe up to now, so we want to qualify.

“New contract? I’m used to thinking about the present and tomorrow’s game, which is really very important.”
