Roberto Mancini admits “coaching Italy one day would be an extraordinary thing” but is focused on Zenit St Petersburg right now.

The former Inter Coach is seen as one of the favourites for the vacant Azzurri CT role, and he discussed the possibility in an interview with Sky, a preview of which was broadcast tonight.

“When you’re abroad you always miss your country,” Mancini confessed, in an interview which will be broadcast in full tomorrow.

“You see the national team playing and it takes you back to the past, the 70s and the 80s, with great emotion.

“You never know in life, I think that coaching Italy one day would be an extraordinary thing.

“In the meantime though I’ll try to win and do my best with Zenit.”
