Belotti earned a call-up to Luigi Di Biagio’s first Italy squad, despite only managing six Serie A goals for a struggling Torino side this season.

“It’s always nice to go back to the Italy set-up,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“There’s a great desire for revenge, we're here and everyone will do their bit. Goal against Fiorentina? Scoring is always pleasurable, but I’d have preferred to win.

“Unfortunately the game ended badly and it's a difficult time for us, but we have to stay united and compact because we can get out of it.

“Di Biagio? I worked with him in the Under-20 and Under-21s for four years. He’s a great man and he’ll prove it.”
