The FIGC hints Carlo Ancelotti is its top choice of Italy CT as Alessandro Costacurta hopes the Coach will ‘make himself available’.

Ancelotti’s position on becoming Italy’s next CT is currently shrouded in doubt, but Costacurta appeared to suggest the Azzurri were banking on the former Milan and Real Madrid boss.

“It’s clear that the games against Argentina and England are two friendlies,” the ex-Rossoneri defender told Domenica Sportiva.

Ancelotti’s position on becoming Italy’s next CT is currently shrouded in doubt, but Costacurta appeared to suggest the Azzurri were banking on the former Milan and Real Madrid boss.

“It’s clear that the games against Argentina and England are two friendlies,” the ex-Rossoneri defender told Domenica Sportiva.

“However, for us, they must act as a path for us to get to where we must be. We have to give these lads the tools to become great.

“Di Biagio as CT? Absolutely. He’s a Coach who knows all the lads that are with the national teams right now. He’s worked very well and I think he has what it takes to coach the national team.

“We have a group of very good Coaches, and in May we’ll have to give a name. We’ll let the season end first. We can’t name them yet.

“Ancelotti? We hope Carlo will make himself available. As they say in Roma, maybe he’ll fall into it…”
