Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent says the Inter striker “is worth more every day” but assures there’s “no tension” for his renewal.
The Argentinian international has a €110m release clause in his contract, which could be activated by a club outside of Italy in the summer.
As a result the Nerazzurri are keen to tie him to a new deal, raising both his salary and his release clause.
“Mauro makes noise on the pitch, where he has to make noise,” Wanda Icardi, the striker’s wife and agent told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We’re all very relaxed about it. We’re confident about the renewal, and when I meet the sporting director [Piero Ausilio] at the stadium we laugh and joke.
“Sometimes I joke that he [Icardi] is worth more every day. But there’s serenity in the air, no tension.
“When you renew you do it to improve the current situation, but we haven’t yet thought about conditions and figures.
I can’t predict the future, but I can say that we like the project of the Zhang family. They want to grow and return Inter to being among the world’s best clubs.”
