Crotone have released a statement denying reports they kicked Roma TV and Roma Radio staff out of the team hotel.

Newspaper Il Tempo had claimed that Coach Walter Zenga ordered the hotel to turf out representatives from Roma’s official channels ahead of Sunday’s Serie A game at the Stadio Scida.

“We feel it is only right to point out that our Coach Walter Zenga did not ‘kick out’ anyone from the hotel,” read a statement released by Crotone.

“The unfortunate incident is to be attributed only to the hotel that has been hosting Football Club Crotone for circa 20 years and that, due to a precise agreement in place, knew that they were not to contemporaneously host dependents or players of other clubs.

“After an analogous situation occurred last year, the club had made it clear to the hotel that they should avoid repeating it. It is likely the Hotel only noticed what was happening quite late on Saturday and tried to fix the situation in clumsy fashion.

“It was the owners of the hotel who moved the members of the AS Roma media centre to another structure a few metres away, presumably giving them a reason that was not accurate.”
