China Coach Marcello Lippi tells Wales manager Ryan Giggs to copy Sir Alex Ferguson if he wants to be successful.
The two nations will meet in the China Cup on Thursday, in what will be Giggs’ first game in charge.
The former winger played under Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United for the bulk of his career, with Lippi’s Juventus having a number of classic European showdowns with the Red Devils.
“I don't feel I need to give him any advice,” the 2006 World Cup winner told the BBC.
“He had the best coach in Sir Alex Ferguson. He just needs to do what he learned from him.”
The respect between Ferguson and Lippi is mutual, as the Scotsman said he used Lippi’s Juve as a model for his United, telling them to emulate the Bianconeri’s will to win.
Lippi won five Scudetti in two spells at Juventus, as well as the Champions League, the Coppa Italia and the Intercontinental Cup.
He won the World Cup with Italy in 2006, before becoming the first Coach to win both the European and the Asian Champions League when he triumphed in the latter at Guangzhou Evergrande.
Ferguson spent over 20 years at Manchester United, winning 13 League titles, two Champions Leagues, five FA Cups, four League Cups and the Intercontinental Cup.
One of the most decorated Coaches in history, he also won the Scottish League with Aberdeen three times, as well as winning the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1983.
