Racing Club striker Lautaro Martinez reveals he chose to join Inter because Vice-President Javier Zanetti “called me many times”.
The striker will join the Nerazzurri in the summer, with only medicals and the final details of his contract to be sorted.
“It’s basically all done with Inter,” Martinez told TyC Sports.
“There are some details missing that my agent is working on, and there’s still the medical to do.
“They came to Buenos Aires with the clear idea of buying me. I chose Inter because, as well as the sporting aspect, Javier Zanetti called me many times.
“Borussia Dortmund? The truth is that they were interested in me, they came to see me at the Bombonera then they came to my house the next day.
“We talked, but they asked us to wait a while. We told them there were a lot of clubs interested in me, that there were a lot of offers.
“They accepted that and I kept playing for Racing, trying to do my best. Then the other teams came in, including Inter.”
