Gary Medel claims ‘confusion’ was behind his failed spell at Inter and that the club were ‘better under an Italian owner like Massimo Moratti’.
Medel made over 100 appearances for Inter between 2014 and 2017 but left for Besiktas without any silverware and played under two owners, as well as four permanent Coaches.
“I gave my soul to Inter, it’s a shame that I didn’t win anything,” the defender-midfielder told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“The real problem was the confusion, and for Suning it won’t be easy, being on the other side of the world. An Italian owner is better, like Moratti.
“Changes in Coach? They were a consequence of the lack of clarity. The bad results were born from that.
“Mancini’s farewell was tough to take. If someone like him leaves in August… He’s the best [I’ve worked under], alongside Bielsa.
“We were flying until December and dropped off after that. Mentally we weren’t ready to stay so high in the table.”
