“I have improved year by year and playing in Italian football made me mature,” said Mertens in a Press conference while on international duty with Belgium.

“I brought all this experience to the Belgium side, where Roberto Martinez expects me to attack the space or go on the counter. There’s competition for places and that is good, as everyone wants to prove themselves.
“Fortunately, Juventus drew 0-0 with SPAL and I think the head-to-head with them on April 22 will be decisive. That is like our Cup Final.
“This is why I want to be in top shape over the next nine games, because becoming the champion of Italy and winning the Scudetto with Napoli would be fantastic.”
