Fiorentina have been granted permission to name their training centre after their former captain Davide Astori.
The centre-back passed away earlier this month, with the Viola and his former club Cagliari retiring the number 13 shirt.
Fiorentina also decided to rename their training centre in his honour, but they needed permission from the city to do so.
The ground next to the Stadio Artemio Franchi will now be known as Centro Sportivo Davide Astori.
“It’s a choice we shared with Fiorentina and the family of Davide,” a statement on the city of Florence’s website reads.
“Writing the name of Davide on Fiorentina’s training ground, as it’s already written on the hearts of all Florentines.
“Together with the family and Fiorentina we’ll identify the best date for the naming ceremony.”
