It’s reported that Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri asked for contract talks to be postponed until the end of the season.

There had been optimism that the 59-year-old would agree an extension this week, but President Aurelio De Laurentiis refused to discuss the prospect today.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Sarri asked for negotiations to be postponed, as he wants to concentrate on the Scudetto run-in, with the Partenopei two points behind Juventus at the top of the table.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis wants to remove the €8m release clause in the Coach’s contract, and is willing to double his salary to around €3m.

However, Gazzetta believes that Sarri’s request is closer to €4m.
