Andrea Conti’s knee injury might be more serious than previously though, as the Milan full-back will see a specialist in America.
The former Atalanta man had surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament in September and was ready for his comeback when suffering a new setback in training.
Conti at first feared another ACL tear, but tests appeared to rule that out, pointing to only a sprain.
However, Sky Sport Italia report Conti will fly to the United States accompanied by Milan medics to visit a specialist.
This suggests there could be more to it than a simple sprain.
It is believed to be the same surgeon who operated on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s knee last year.
