“Indomitable, furious, tenacious and combative: that is Crotone,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“These are the four very important adjectives that I see in my players. Crotone’s club symbol is the shark, which stands at the top of the food chain. The shark is by nature a hunter, not the prey, and to the last minute of the season we must embody these characteristics.

“It’s nothing new that Crotone are ‘forced’ to pick up points for survival, but the truth is every team should go out and play to win regardless of their position in the table.

“If we were comfortably mid-table, it’s not as if we’d be going to Florence for an Easter weekend getaway…”

There are 10 rounds left this season and it’s increasingly tight in the drop zone, with Genoa, Cagliari, Sassuolo, SPAL, Chievo, Crotone and Verona in an eight-point radius.

“It’s a final sprint and we’ve got to hold our breath on this one. I saw the right spirit in training this week and I also forced a few situations, because it’s not as if a player can say he’s not fit because he got bitten by a mosquito or something.

“I like being in this difficult situation, because it means we can’t stop and think, we have to just get on with it.”
