Juve, Lazio and Belgium are three things with which Nainggolan has seldom seen eye to eye, and the Roma midfielder addressed them in the third and final part of his interview with Il Tempo.

“I’m telling you the truth, I have it in for Juventus, but I hope they win it,” he explained.

“I have nothing against Napoli or Mertens, they deserve it for how they play, but if I’ve come second for five years and then a team other than Juventus win it, it’ll break me.

“Lazio? They see penalties that aren’t there, although I don’t think they’ve had the rub of the green in some games.

“It also happened to us in the past, when we protested a lot, like when Juventus were awarded two penalties against us for fouls outside the box.

“The incidents are endless, but we must move forward. Lazio, on the other hand, still talk about what happened in the third game of the season, even though we’re about to play our 30th.

“Martinez? I’m happy now because I feel the affection of the fans and I didn’t expect to. Now I’ve got to know the human side of the Coach better.

“World Cup? I hope so, I’m doing everything I can, but it doesn’t depend on me.

“I thought I’d make it four years ago, but they didn’t call me up, so now I’m only thinking about doing my bit and leaving it up to Martinez, even if I think I deserve to go.”
