Maurizio Sarri once again insisted Napoli aren’t targeting the Scudetto and only want to set a new club record after their 1-1 at Sassuolo.

This could be a decisive round in the title race, as the Partenopei were held at the Mapei Stadium, while Juventus take on Milan this evening.

“We suffered because we went behind in a strange way after some favourable situations,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was problematic to raise the tempo against a Sassuolo side who focused on protecting their lead and taking home the result. We created a lot of chances again today, but it’s a period where we aren’t converting enough of them into goals.”

Arkadiusz Milik came off the bench and nearly scored the winner, his overhead kick thumping the crossbar.

“Milik is putting minutes in his legs and was extremely dangerous today. He is an important weapon to keep in the armoury. We must work to get him back to his best.”

Sarri was asked if the showdown with Juventus in Turin next month will be decisive for the Scudetto, but brushed off the question.

“Our objective is to reach 87 points and set a new all-time record for Napoli in Serie A. That is the only reason we are disappointed to drop two points today.”
