“I must be honest, I don’t know,” replied Conte in a Press conference when asked if he would still be the Chelsea manager next season.

“This is not my problem. It’s a problem for the club. For us managers it’s not sure. You can have a contract, but you don’t know what will happen after one or two games. We depend a lot on the results.”

Conte has been publicly named as one of the candidates the FIGC is considering for the Italy job.

He has said he regretted leaving only two years into his tenure and already knows most of the players in the squad.

The Federation have said they’ll announce the new Italy boss on May 20.
