Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane says last year’s Champions League final won’t affect the Juventus game tomorrow - “Cardiff has nothing to do with it”.
The Bianconeri were thrashed 4-1 in last year’s final, and the two sides renew acquaintances in Turin tomorrow night with a Betfred promo code available too.
“We’ll try to play a good game because that’s what we do,” Zidane said in his pre-match Press conference.
“Cardiff has nothing to do with it. We can’t think about it, every game is one unto itself, we need to prepare well because tomorrow will be important for both teams.
“It’s been 10 months, Juve are a completely different team now. What happened, happened.
“Juve have always been strong and they’re proving it, they’re a complete team and you need to be attentive to what they do at the back, in midfield and up-front.
“Juve are having a good season, they’re playing well. I’ve watched their matches, I can’t comment on any criticism of the Italian league but Juventus have a good style.”
Zidane was asked how his side have changed with respect to Cardiff.
“The players are more or less the same, but our season hasn’t been as good as we’d thought.”
The Frenchman spent five seasons with the Bianconeri during his playing career, before moving to Real Madrid for a world record fee.
“I learned so much in those five years, I’d never left France before and they welcomed me like a family,” Zidane explained.
“I have very good memories, but I’m the Real Madrid Coach now so I’m only thinking about the match.
“I experienced both teams and I think they’re two teams with similar DNA, they want to fight and win.
“Would I be Juve Coach one day? Never say never, but I’m happy where I am now. I’m only thinking of Real, I don’t want to think about the future.”
