“Considering the way we played and worked so hard, we deserved the victory,” Sirigu told Sky Sport Italia.

“Having said that, if Inter had equalised or even won, they’d have said the same thing. It was a very entertaining game from both sides and we did well to both break the deadlock and then hold on to the lead. That’s what football is about.

“Inter tried to score every way they could and it didn’t go well for them, but you can’t say Torino didn’t earn these points.

“We went through a rough patch this season and realised we had to ignore the table, focus on daily work and take it one game at a time. We had to fully understand what the Coach wanted and put it into practice.”
