Former Juventus boss Marcello Lippi suggests Max Allegri can become the Sir Alex Ferguson of Juventus.

Allegri has been linked with ending his four-year reign at Juve this summer, but Lippi felt his Bianconeri successor had what it took to emulate Ferguson, whose tenure at United spanned four decades.

“Juve-Napoli? The Bianconeri often change formation,” the China manager told La Repubblica.

“Napoli have had to choose the League, something that Juventus can’t afford to do right now.

“They don’t always play pretty football, but they’re competitive, at least until they meet the big boys [of European football]…

“Allegri gone at the end of the season? I think about Ferguson, who stayed at United for 25 years, keeping the team at the top and always replenishing them.”
