The Giallorossi are planning to build a new arena in the Tor di Valle area, but haven’t yet been given the green light to begin construction.

The American owner yesterday set a summer deadline for definitive approval, warning they “can’t keep spending money” with no return.

Today Pallotta, along with CEO Mauro Baldissoni, met with mayor Virginia Raggi, as well as the President of the capital assembly and the Urban Assessor.

The Roma owner joked that the mayor might like to switch teams, given she’s a Lazio fan, after last night’s incredible win over Barcelona.

Raggi replied that, as mayor, she supports both teams 50-50.

The council has already approved the stadium plans, so the club just needs the final green light to start building.
