Dries Mertens and Kalidou Koulibaly could pick up some ‘diplomatic’ yellow cards against Milan tomorrow to ensure they face Juventus.

According to Il Roma newspaper and some social media theories, Mertens and Koulibaly will be tempted to take one for the team.

They are both one yellow card away from suspension and don’t want to run the risk of missing next weekend’s massive match against the Serie A leaders in Turin.

They are both one yellow card away from suspension and don’t want to run the risk of missing next weekend’s massive match against the Serie A leaders in Turin.

As there is a midweek round coming up on Wednesday evening against struggling Udinese, it’s likely Arkadiusz Milik will start anyway and give Mertens a rest.

With the final weeks of the season coming up fast, it’s suggested Mertens and Koulibaly could try to get that ban out of the way for an ‘easy’ fixture.

Mario Rui is already suspended for tomorrow’s trip to Milan.
