“It’s difficult, but our job is to forget Liverpool and focus on this game, because there’s so much still at stake in Serie A. Our league position is decisive for next season,” the director of sport told Mediaset Premium.

There are several changes at the Stadio Mazza ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final with Liverpool.

“The team is ready, we rotated the squad against Genoa and again today, but always with a strong line-up. We are competitive enough to go forward in two tournaments.

“We know what the team needs and where for next season, but right now we have to focus on this final exciting month for Romanisti.

“This is not the time to think about who could go or arrive. We’ve got important games to play now. We need concentration, it’s very hot today in Ferrara and can be quite complicated.”

Patrik Schick leads the way in attack, giving Edin Dzeko a rest, but is still waiting for his first Serie A goal in a Roma jersey.

“I think Schick is reaching the level we all expect. He had two good performances against Barcelona and Lazio, the club has faith in him and we’re convinced he has quality.”
