Giorgio Chiellini has a hyper-extended knee and not a muscular problem, as Juventus confirm he’s “almost certainly” out of the Inter match.
The defender pulled up within a couple of minutes in tonight’s 1-0 defeat to Napoli and limped off 10 minutes after that.
According to Sky Sport Italia, what was initially believed to be a muscular issue is actually the hyper-extension of the knee.
That would mean at least a couple of weeks out and possibly season over already for the veteran.
“Chiellini almost certainly won’t be ready for the Inter game” next Saturday, confirmed Coach Max Allegri in his Press conference.
Juve’s loss to Napoli means the gap at the top of the table has been closed to just one point.
There are four rounds to go, including difficult matches against Inter and Roma, plus the Bianconeri have the Coppa Italia Final against Milan on May 9.
